is it safe to order from China? Can I get coronavirus from a package delivered from China?

The current outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) that was first reported from Wuhan, China have made a big influence on the business trade. The number of deaths in Hubei Province more than doubled the prior daily record, while the number of new cases soared by 14,840 to a total of 48,206 cases. But China Goverment and society are trying best to control the Virus in soon days.

U.S. health officials have said that there is no evidence to support the transmission of the new coronavirus through imported goods.

“In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures,” Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the Center for Disease Control’s Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said in a press briefing.

Is it safe to receive a package from China or any other place where the virus has been identified?

Yes, it is safe.  People receiving packages are not at risk of contracting the new coronavirus. From experience with other coronaviruses, we know that these types of viruses don’t survive long on objects, such as letters or packages.
